What is the difference between EM and REM in CSS?

Both REM and EM are relative units, unlike PX.

EM is relative to the font-size of the direct or nearest parent.

Whereas, REM (Root EM) is only relative to the html (root) font-size, not the parent.

EM is generally used far more than REM.
